Whilst controlled by very strict UK laws, shooting is a hobby and pastime practised by millions of people all over the country. Ownership is broadly divided by those people who own shotguns, rifles or air guns, with varying strict laws on the safe use and storage of all such weapons. There are hundreds of specialist gun shops spread all over the UK – some as traditional bricks and mortar shops and others that trade on the internet.
There are many well known makers and brands of recreational guns including Browning, Remington, Walther, BSA and Crosman. This list is not intended to be exhaustive, and will include many others that supply optics, accessories and specialist clothing. The gun shops all have specialist staff on hand to answer their customers questions and can advise on all aspects of the law including the necessary permits and licences required for safe gun owning.
Gun shops will also keep a range of security equipment like gun safes, travelling cases and trigger locks. The lists of gun accessories is almost endless and includes optical sight, rests & mats, lamps, targets and ammunition for all the various gun types. Gun shops are also a good place for customers to obtain shooting books and DVD’s as well as information about gun clubs or shooting ranges.
