Thistle Sports is an equipment based sports shop in Aberdeen, specialising in racquet sports like squash, tennis, badminton and racquetball. They also offer the only professional restringing service in the North East of Scotland using the state of the art Wilson Baiardo stringing machine, reputedly the world’s best stringing machine.
Thistle Sports are the main sponsors of Aberdeenshire grades cricket association, as such they are the only stockist of the approved grades cricket ball. Grampian boasts one of the largest playing cricket populations per head in the UK. Other sports include rugby, hockey, and swimming. All the staff are keen sportsmen and are actively involved in one or more of the sports that are catered for at Thistle Sports.
Thistle Sports have been serving the North East's sporting public since the early 1980’s, and have traded since 1993 from their present location. A regular comment heard from customers is, "How nice it is to come into a real sports shop" - hopefully they never stop saying that. Perhaps that says more about Aberdeen's Thistle Sports than the staff ever could.
